Three Kodak stocks, one Super 8 body, scanned at 2K
A rare published breakdown of which stock went where, and an honest note that only parts of the video are Super 8 at all.
Watch on YouTubeMost coverage of a film-shot music video says "shot on Super 8" and stops. This one specifies the body, the lens and which stock was used for what.
Lens 6-66mm Schneider
Exteriors Kodak Ektachrome Super 8-94 100D
Interiors and night Pro8-500T
Texture and contrast Tri-X
Scan 2K to ProRes 4444 HQ
Everything else not stated
The source is explicit that only "large proportions" of the video, the intimate home-movie sequences, are Super 8. The rest of the package is not disclosed, so we cannot tell you what the other camera was.
Three stocks in one production is a deliberate choice rather than a supply accident: a daylight reversal stock for exteriors gives saturation and contrast, a 500T holds the interiors, and black-and-white Tri-X cut in among them reads as a different memory rather than a different scene.
A note on sourcing
This piece carries no attributed speech at all. The article we are drawing from describes the package but quotes nobody, and we could not reach an interview with Banhazl or Pro8mm about it. Everything above is specification, not testimony.
